T2M-IP Secures the Deal…
T2M-IP, a leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor IP, is pleased to announce that a Tier-1 U.S.-based technology customer has licensed their partner’s comprehensive suite of Interface and Analog IP cores for the development of next-generation AR/VR smart glasses.
The licensed portfolio delivers a complete SoC-ready subsystem, combining high-speed connectivity and precision analog processing, engineered for ultra-light, low-power, high-performance wearable XR devices.
Interface IPs: Foundation for Immersive Data Flow
To support high-bandwidth, real-time processing for visual, audio, and sensor-rich AR/VR applications, the licensed IP set includes:
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 Controller & PHY IP Cores
- Supports 10 Gbps data transfer for rapid device communication, debugging, and updates.
- Features Type-C integration, smart power negotiation, and optimized link power management for wearables.
- MIPI CSI-2 & DSI-2 Controller & PHY IP Cores
- CSI-2 enables direct interfacing with high-resolution, multi-spectral sensor arrays (RGB, IR, depth).
- DSI-2 delivers vibrant, low-latency visuals to dual displays, with support for DSC and HDR.
These interface cores provide the backbone for high-throughput visual and sensor data exchange while maintaining minimal energy footprints — a must for wearable spatial computing.
Analog IP Subsystem: Precision Sensing & Audio
The Analog IP Cores play a vital role in bringing the real world into the digital domain, delivering enhanced interactivity, responsiveness, and user immersion.
- ADC IP Core
- Configurable 12–14-bit resolution for environmental and motion sensor acquisition.
- Used for IMUs, ambient sensors, analog microphones, and power telemetry.
- Built with low-power SAR architecture and scalable multiplexing.
- DAC IP Core
- 14–16-bit precision for analog audio output and actuator control.
- Enables haptic feedback, speaker interfacing, and analog diagnostics.
- Other Analog IP Blocks
- LDO Regulators: Ensure low-noise analog power supplies for sensitive circuitry.
- Bandgap Reference Circuits: Provide accurate, temperature-stable voltage references.
- Analog Comparators: Support real-time event detection from analog signals (e.g., power rails, bio-signals).
“The analog subsystem doesn’t just enable connectivity — it senses, responds, and enhances the immersive envelope,” said [Your Exec Name], [Title]. “Our precision analog portfolio ensures seamless physical-to-digital integration for next-gen XR systems.”
Real-World Applications and Deployment
The licensed IPs are intended to power AR/VR headsets that will serve multiple markets, including:
- Enterprise collaboration and productivity tools
- Consumer-focused spatial content and gaming
- Industrial and educational AI-based training platforms
Tape-out is planned for later this year, with first customer silicon expected in early 2026.
